This is the Voice of Black people who give you diversity and awareness of Earth/ And our colors can speak you nameless and endless in peace/Wherever you go you will see me/ Because I am your nation and religion/Because I am your country and I am your language/Because I am your culture and history/Because we are all in one color/Just because it is black that creates every color/ till everything gets white

This is the voice of Michael, my uncle who governed a city when they said people with his skin couldn't. This is the voice of Jonlasha, my wife, who loves a white man and helped me see.

This is a love that cares for others/ a love that fuels a community for generations to come/ this is strength and resilience/ This is a love that refuses to quit, even when the going gets tough/ a love that families speak of as a sign that love perseveres through the hardships

IF WE WOULD ONLY SEE WITH OUR 💕 HEART The Nightly news poisons our minds, Stretching the stories to fill their time, Most of the time its only half the story. When they have nothing to report , They go over the latest news, Over and Over and Over again, Like beating a dead horse. I can’t stand it! You have the lefts, You have the rights, And you have the right now’s . We have Black, We have White, We have Yellow , And Brown. But did you know, We are all the same color on the inside? We all bleed red, And cry the same tears. Why don’t you close your eyes, And imagine you can’t see color, Feel with your heart, Do you still feel hate? I bet you’d feel a peacefulness, A feeling of Unconditional Love. Why do we have to be so divided?? Why do we have to choose a side? Can’t we just choose not to choose? If I must choose I choose Love. Because your life matters. ❤️

We Are Not The Color of our Skin The color of our skin is not who we are. Our “bodies” are just shells. Shells that house our souls. If we could see inside others, we’d see we are all made of the same thing And we all are connected by our souls connected to each other. When you judge someone You are really mirroring yourself What you don’t like about them You don’t like about yourself. So lets start first by loving ourselves Taking inventory Seeing what needs healed Though you don’t want to relive it You need to bring it up, to get it out. You’ll see that a lot of your behaviors We’re formed from your experiences Growing up. But your past doesn’t define you You can make your Present any way you want, Take your time and figure out Figure out how you want it all to play out You are the creator. Create Love not Hate.

Pain... the voice of generational trauma This is the voice that sounded over the Mayflower and crashed on shores of resiliency

I Want... / I Feel…

I want my people to be educated. I want my people to breath. I feel so tired. I feel so tired of repeating myself. I feel bent educating myself more and more to supply actions steps for our oppressor and they still have educated themselves none. I feel stuck in a foam pit. I want joy love and support for my people. I want them to smile more. I want them to laugh. I want them to enjoy the very life the Lord has blessed them with. And with education there will be frustration. But with education there will be liberation.

My voice is as sharp as the knife used to cut the fruit from my ancestors' tree. My voice cracks like the earth's hardness beneath my feet. This voice is for the women before me. This voice is for my niece. This voice is for those who are too afraid and too convinced that they are too weak to speak. This is a love that doesn't judge. A love that wraps around you and grips you so tight, it does not compare to a hug. This is a love as warm as the sun.

This Is a Love...

This is a love that is silent but ever present...like a mother holding a child within her womb...It's a love that we can call our own...like the first man who called the Sun a son...It's a love that...when broken down...brings us back to the first times...we sat down by campfires...and listened to everyone's stories.

This is the voice of those who can’t speak/ the ones who have fallen on their knees/ the ones you put 6 feet underneath/ after their ancestors built the land you get to keep.

This is the voice of those confined behind the red lines/ Where Jim's Crow's cawed upon the street post/ These voices by no means are miniature These voices move mountains/ Carve canyons and quake the Earth's surface/ These voices are the rafts in the waters/ We were told were too rough to swim/ These voices were the guiding light in dark of night/ When our lantern were dim These voices carried a nation on it's back like a camel in a caravan/ Across desolate and treacherous lands

This Is a Love...

This Is a Love that seeks the truth. A love that knows that hatred, although weaker, shows its power in organization and anchors its roots in precedent. A love that will continue to try, that will drag itself back into the arena. A love that seeks to provide safety, and knows it will need to grow to do so. This Is a Love with its eyes open.
